When Paulina came to Positive Options, she was finishing college and felt a lot of pressure from her ex-boyfriend to have an abortion. She had just interviewed for medical school. She was scared that her dream of becoming a doctor, something that she had worked hard for, wouldn’t happen with a baby. When she had her ultrasound at Positive Options, it was a wake-up call.

Abortion was not something she wanted to do. She decided that even though medical school would be hard, it’s about how bad you want things and what you’re willing to do to make those things happen. She was encouraged to follow her dream. Evelyn has become a part of it. This summer, they will begin medical school together. Parenting was the best decision for Paulina.
